A plastic free (and beautiful!) alternative to disposable sponges and cleaning clothes. Yep, even sponges contain plastic and when you use them, microplastics end up in the water system. Plus they are normally wrapped in plastic packaging....

These Scrubbies are handmade in Wales by the very lovely (and multi award winning!) Kerry and we love supporting her business. 

• Made using 100% organic cotton, a tough, durable hessian backing and a bamboo lining which is naturally antibacterial.
• One side is smooth with a fabulous pattern on, created using eco dyes, and the other side is hessian for tough scrubbing power. Even the thread is biodegradable organic cotton (cheap polyester thread is not!)

These were one of our first eco switches and we love them! They are very versatile, we use ours for washing up as well as cleaning surfaces and the hessian is great for scrubbing tiles and taps etc without scratching. 

How to care for your Scrubbie

Once you have finished using, simply ring out and hang to dry. (We peg ours onto the drying rack) When you think its time for a refresh, simply put it in with your normal wash (anywhere between 20 - 40 degrees is fine) and air dry. These tough scrubbies last months when properly cared for. 

Once a scrubbie has come to the end of its life, simply put cut up and place in your home compost. They are completely biodegradable so every part of them will break down naturally.
