  • DESCRIPTION

Beeswax wraps and other wax wraps have become hugely popular recently, with a lot of people searching for an alternative to cling film and foil wrapping, which all ends up in landfills. Use them for wrapping food, covering bowls or we've even used ours to make little snack pouches for the miniature human when we are out and about! They are incredibly versatile and handy to have in the kitchen.

We tested a few different brands and these GoodToBee wax wraps were our favourite. They held together nicely, kept food fresher and have the most loveliest of designs. The wraps are lovingly handmade using organic cotton, local bees wax, tree resin and organic jojoba oil. The organic cotton really does make all the difference, some of the other brands we tried had not used organic cotton and it was noticeable. The way organic cotton is produced and harvested is much more eco friendly and the final product is of a much high quality.

This everyday pack is ideal for most kitchens, and ideal if you are new to wax wraps. This pack contains one of each, in their wonderful "Folkland" print:

    • Small 20 x 20 cm (8” x 8”)
    • Medium 25 x 25 cm (10” x 10”)
    • Large 30 x 30 cm (12” x 12”)

    How to wrap

Simply rub your hands together to generate a bit of warmth and wrap away! The warmth from your hands will make the material flexible and help it to mould and cling. Once in the fridge, the wraps will harden, keeping food fresh for longer!

    Looking after your beeswax wraps

To clean your beeswax wraps, simply rinse them under cold water, with a small amount of washing up liquid or dishwashing soap if required. Hang them to dry over the drying rack and they are good to go again! To store them, simply fold them or roll them up and have on display in a jar on the kitchen counter (the patterns are that cute!)

Ensure food is cold before wrapping and it is advised not to use them for raw meats or fish. Not microwavable friendly and it is important to keep them away from heat and flames.

How to keep them going strong for a really long time...

After a few months of use, the wraps might begin to look a little tired and need refreshing. To do this, simply lay them on a baking sheet and place them in a pre heated medium hot oven for 2 minutes. Lift them out and hold them up to dry in seconds. They should now be refreshed and looking like new again. If you repeat this every few months, your wraps should last an entire year! That's a lot less single use food wrap going to landfill! Once they have fulfilled their wrapping duties for the last time, pop them on the compost heap or scrunch them up and use them as fire lighters!
